My name is Stephen and I'm a photographer, specialising in the arts.

I work primarily with artists, makers and galleries, showcasing their work, shooting glass, ceramics, precious metals and textiles. I also shoot portraits, architecture and products.

This all started while on holiday as a small child in the late 70's, I found a lovely little Kodak film camera in its leather case, which had been left on top of a pinball machine in an amusement arcade.

I handed it in to the local police station, then waited impatiently as the two week claim period ticked by, it felt like a lifetime – back then, if nobody claimed lost property, you could keep it. Amazingly, nobody did and it was mine! I couldn't believe it.

This was my first experience of photography and getting film processed at my local pharmacy each week felt like some kind of miracle or magic trick, it was so exciting.

I've lost non of that wide-eyed excitement – for me, photography is the perfect collision of science and art. I enjoy the equipment, the process, the technical challenges, the people I meet, just the sheer joy of taking and making images.

Rwy'n gweithio'n bennaf gydag artistiaid, gwneuthurwyr ac orielau, gan arddangos eu gwaith, gan dynnu lluniau o wydr, cerameg, metelau gwerthfawr a thecstilau. Rwyf hefyd yn tynnu lluniau o bortreadau, pensaernïaeth a chynhyrchion.

Dechreuodd hyn i gyd tra roeddwn i ar wyliau fel plentyn bach ddiwedd y 70au, des i o hyd i gamera ffilm Kodak bach hyfryd yn ei gas lledr, a oedd wedi'i adael ar ben peiriant pinball mewn arcêd difyrion.

Fe'i rhoddais i mewn i'r orsaf heddlu leol, yna aros yn ddiamynedd wrth i'r cyfnod hawlio pythefnos fynd heibio, roedd yn teimlo fel oes - bryd hynny, os nad oedd neb yn hawlio eiddo coll, gallech chi ei gadw. Yn anhygoel, wnaeth neb ac roedd yn eiddo i mi! Doeddwn i ddim yn gallu ei gredu.

Dyma fy mhrofiad cyntaf o ffotograffiaeth ac roedd cael ffilm wedi'i phrosesu yn fy fferyllfa leol bob wythnos yn teimlo fel rhyw fath o wyrth neu tric hud, roedd mor gyffrous.

Dydw i wedi colli dim o'r cyffro mawr hwnnw - i mi, ffotograffiaeth yw'r gwrthdrawiad perffaith o wyddoniaeth a chelf. Rwy'n mwynhau'r offer, y broses, yr heriau technegol, y bobl rwy'n eu cyfarfod, dim ond llawenydd pur tynnu a chreu delweddau.
